Welcome

The Legion of Mary has provided temporary accommodation to homeless men in Belfast since 1938.  Morning Star House is a refuge for homeless men, many of whom have a history of rough sleeping and alcohol or substance misuse.

On 28 July 2004 the Legion of Mary saw the opening of its newest building based in the Belfast City centre.  This building can accommodate up to 39 guests in 24 bedrooms on the wet side, 7 bedrooms on the dry side, 4 self-contained apartments and 4 emergency beds.

The development of the spiritual dimension of the person is fundamental to the outlook of the Legion of Mary.  It is also a vital ingredient in the recovery of those with problems of addiction and empirical evidence suggests that it is beneficial to a happy and contented life.  An oratory is available where religious services are held of which all the guests are invited to avail.
